Digital
TV although not entirely a broadband issue do have links in couple
of areas.
Digital
TV is going to take over from analogue TV that is currently is use.
By 2010 all UK televisions will have to be digital as the analogue
service is going to be turned off so digital TV is going to be the
only way to go.
The switch and change is not going to be everyone at the same time
but by regions and areas at a time.
Digital
TV provides better pictures and better sound but the reason that
the chance is taking place is because digital TV signals can be
compressed so more information can be transferred down the same
line that can be via analogue signals.
With
broadband TV now starting to slowly increase in popularity now means
that digital TV can be sent through users broadband connections
to watch either on a computer or a television. Sky
By Broadband is an example now where Sky
Digital users can watch certain Sky channels via their broadband
connection on their computer.
A number
of broadband
providers also offer broadband,
telephone and digital TV all together. So if you are looking
at receiving digital TV then it is worth looking at if you can change
suppliers as when you take out deals for multiple services such
as digital TV and broadband providers can offer reduced rates with
the more bundled services that you take up with them.
Sky
digital uses satellite to deliver the digital TV and uses a minidish
and digibox to receive and read it.
If
however you want to combine digital TV with either broadband and/or
telephone then see what NTL
& Telewest
have to offer. These are cable companies that can offer you broadband,
digital TV and telephone via a cable.
