Skype the VoIP provider has joined up with the mobile phone operator 3 to bring VoIP to mobile phones.
The Skype enabled mobile phones will be shipped to the UK and will be designed to make VoIP calls on the Skype network free to the Skype enabled mobile phones.
This is a big step forward in the VoIP marketplace and is likely to see other VoIP providers and mobile phone networks joining up to also offer the service. It could even lead to mobile phone networks developing their own VoIP services.
