Virgin Media is set to increase the broadband speeds in Preston, Wigan and Blackpool regions as part of a trial that will run for at least two weeks.
Those who are on the "L" broadband will see speeds increase from 4MB to 10MB and upload speeds will increase by 33% from 384kb to 512kb.
Users in these areas don't have to do anything, they will automatically receive the upgrade which starts today (1st October 2007) and it will not cost them anything extra.
