The owners of Bulldog Broadband, Cable & Wireless, who announced last month that they were stopping the promotion of residential broadband and focussing instead on providing wholesale broadband to major broadband service providers have announced that they are looking for a buyer for their Bulldog customer base.
Large broadband providers are unlikely to be interested in getting the 118,000 broadband customers that Bulldog has as they would have to use the Cable & Wireless wholesale service and most of the large broadband providers are already investing money into providing their own wholesale LLU technology.
However, to smaller broadband providers 118,000 customers could offer a great chance to get a much larger customer base than they have already and this is the most likely place for a buyer.
Another possible company who may be interested are Vodafone who have yet to get their own broadband offering available. And with O2 buying Be Broadband, plus Orange having launched their own broadband packages this could be a good chance for Vodafone to get in on the act too.
