Tesco most reliable broadband provider for delivering emails
3rd July 2008
Tesco has topped the results of broadband providers for delivering emails within 3 minutes
Sending an email on Thursdays between 5pm and 6pm is the worst time as this is the point when the "email rush hour" is taking place, meaning that your email is likely to take longer to be delivered or received during this time or even lost in cyberspace altogether. These are the findings of Epitiro, the people who measure broadband performance.
Epitiro have been measuring how different broadband providers fair when it comes to delivering emails with Tesco coming out as the leader.
Epitiro monitored for a year, from April 2007 until March 2008 the number of emails each provider delivered within 3 minutes.
The top 5 list is below.
The average rate of emails delivered within 3 minutes was 95.4%, 1.2% of emails took between 3 and 10 minutes to be delivered, while 3.4% of emails took over 10 minutes to be delivered.
It should be noted that no none-broadband provider email services were tested, such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and Gmail. It would be interesting to see how these faired in the results.
