McDonalds is set to launch free wireless Internet access in its 1,200 restaurants across the UK.
The move will be designed to try and drive customers into their restaurants to use the free Wi-Fi service and also to use their counter to buy food with at the same time.
It is an innovative move and a large-scale initiative.
This is a big move and accompanied with the news that BT & FON have joined to create free wireless internet access through consumers own broadband connections at home, subject to the users signing up for it, is going to have a big effect on those places who charge to use the wireless hotspots at prices of around £5 per hour.
