Pipex Wireless has been re-named FREEDOM4 as it continues the roll out of its WiMAX infrastructure.
What WiMAX offers is a broadband connection whenever a user is in a WiMAX zone.
The rollout in Milton Keynes and Warwick has been a success and Manchester is the next on the list to get WiMAX installed in to.
The benefits of WiMAX for those in an area that has it installed include not actually needing to have a telephone line (so no line rental charges) in your home, being able to move house without having to worry about getting a MAC code or getting a new line activated and also the ability to use broadband anywhere in the WiMAX area.
As WiMAX does not use telephone exchanges to deliver broadband, users who can only receive slow broadband speeds through their phone line may also benefit by being able to receive faster broadband speeds through it as it uses Microwave Access technology.
Mike Read, CEO, FREEDOM4 said: WiMAX is an exciting technology, requiring a new approach to broadband delivery, so the time is right to launch our services with a fresh brand.
"Over the next year, we believe that FREEDOM4 will become the name associated with broadband wireless internet and look forward to the next stage as our services are rolled out in Milton Keynes, Warwick, Manchester and other parts of the UK.”
