As we reported 8 days ago (AOL UK want to sell up?) when the news first came out that Time Warner were were looking into maybe selling up their UK arm of AOL there has been much speculation about who is going to be in the running to buy the business.
Early suggestion were of companies such as Vodafone & O2 who may want to follow Orange who 2 weeks ago launched Orange Broadband. Indications now are that BT & BSkyB are the front runners.
Sky are due to launch their own broadband package later this summer after they bought up Easynet for £211 million last year. Like TalkTalk they to could well be looking to offer "free broadband" to subscribers to it’s TV service.
Indications are that Time Warner are looking for £1 billion for the sale but other experts are suggesting £660 million could be a closer value as it is thought that neither BT or BSkyB are going to offer the asking price.
