The Office Of Fair Trading (OFT) yesterday announced that it would be looking into the buy out of Pipex Broadband & Voice divisions by Tiscali for any competition issues.
If it does have any issues then it could set conditions to the merger or even refer the deal to the Competition Commission.
It is believed that Tiscali & Pipex went to the OFT to inform them of the deal themselves and it was not down to the OFT starting the investigation themselves.
Anyone who wants to make comment or have issues with the deal has a deadline of 3rd August 2007 to make them known and the results of the findings will be announced by the 17th August 2007.
