Be Broadband slowed by chopped fibre cable

24th October 2008

A Fibre Optic trunk in London's Docklands caused O2 & Be Broadband issues on Wednesday

According to el Reg workmen managed to chop though one of the major fibre optic trunks in London’s Docklands on Wednesday.

O2 & Be Broadband (O2 own BE) were the main affected network. Traffic had to be routed over a slower backup connection which is what caused the slower speeds that people experienced.
