Newnet have announced that they are to start offering 24MB broadband utilising LLU to install their own ADSL2+ network.
Initially the Portsmouth South area is where Newnet are going to start rolling out the service as this is where they are based, other areas are to follow with a target of 50 more exchanges to be unbundled in the next 2 years.
Peter Coates-Buglear, Newnet founder and CEO said: We are rolling out in Portsmouth first as it is on our door step. Other areas will follow. We plan to cover as much of the country as possible - 50 exchanges over the next 2 years. We are starting in areas where we have most customers. The Portsmouth 24Meg service is 18 months ahead of BT and will enable customers to connect directly to our 10Gigabit High Speed UK network.
