Ofcom give the low-down on broadband popularity

25th October 2007

Ofcom has released their latest figures as to the numbers of broadband connections in the UK.
As of the end of Quarter 2 of 2007 the number of broadband connections totalled over 14 million at 14,365,000 which is almost 3 million more new connections on the same time last year.

The number of LLU (Local Loop Unbundled) lines came in at 2,432,000 which is a rise of just short of 2 million in a year. This shows that LLU is becoming popular amongst broadband providers who want to be able to deliver their own broadband and communications direct to customers without having to use BT's equipment.
Below is a breakdown of Ofcoms stats.
