Picnic broadband is very close to being launched to the UK according to the guys over at SkyUser.
They have found out that Picnic Broadband is open to employees during its final testing stages before it is opened up to the public.
Reading their forums also suggests that full launch is likely to be in April 2008, although this is still un-official so should not be taken as definite.
Picnic is owned by Sky and is aimed at offering customers the choice of which services (broadband, telephone, TV) they would like to receive instead of having to take a bundle like with Sky Broadband.
We initially reported back in September last year about the likelihood of Sky launching a stand-alone broadband package.
A new version Netgear Router DG834GV4 is to be used and as Picnic Broadband will only be available by self-install the CD has been made as simple as possible for users to install themselves.
We will be sure to bring you any more news with regards to Picnic as and when we get it.
