BT have released their first fiscal quarter results to June 30th 2006.
The results showed that revenue was £4.86bn up 3% on the same time last year from £4.73bn.
Profits before taxation were also up 24% at £639 million up from £517 million at the same time last year.
New wave revenue showed a large increase of 18% up to £1,641 million and represented 34% of BT's revenue. Broadband is one of the sectors represented in the New Wave revenue.
BT Broadband had 8.7 million wholesale broadband connections at June 30 2006, including 580,000 local loop unbundled lines, an increase of 2.9 million connections year on year and 535,000 connections in the quarter.
The report was published on the same day as The Carphone Warehouse released their results for the first quarter again showing great results to their broadband offer with TalkTalk.
