BT has released the latest quarters figures showing them with 35% broadband market share
BT has released its first quarter results to the end of June 2008 today.
The main points relating to broadband were that BT now has 13 million wholesale broadband users which includes the 4.8 million LLU lines and is an increase of 1.8 million wholesale broadband customers from the same time last year.
Of the 338,000 new broadband connections in the last quarter, BT's retail share was 31% meaning they added 103,000 new customers.
Their overall broadband market share stands at 35% with 4.5 million customers.
BT FON, the largest Wi-Fi community in the world grew to 121,000 members. Members share part of their broadband connection to create a wireless hotspot network throughout the UK.
BT Openzone now have 3,000 available hotspots and averages 1.1 million minutes per week day in usage.
BT Vision, the next generation TV service from BT also showed continued growth with 282,000 customers.
