Zen Internet to launch fibre broadband deals in September

Zen Internet are to offer fibre optic broadband services in September.

zen internet Zen Internet to launch fibre broadband deals in SeptemberZen’s fibre broadband will be available to areas where BT’s fibre optic network has been installed and will be able to offer broadband speeds of up to 40Mb and say that there will be a minimum download speed of 15Mb.

Although no specific prices for Zen’s fibre broadband are yet known it is believed that the fibre options will be around £5-£10 more than standard ADSL broadband costs when launched.

Zen has been working with BT to trial fibre optic broadband services since July last year, they are to start commercial trials of the service in mid June so that they can hopefully be ready for the full launch in September. Anyone interested in taking part in Zens commercial fibre broadband trials should email fibre@zen.co.uk and include your name, address and telephone number where they will then check to see if you are able to take part in their tests (basically your local telephone exchange will need to have the fibre broadband deployed from it).

Last week we also saw that Zen Internet doubled the usage limits available on it’s Lite, Active, Pro and Office broadband packages.

Zen Internet top customer broadband satisfation charts with Which?

Zen Internet has topped the charts as the best broadband provider from a survey of Which? members.

Zen scored 5 out of 5 for speed, reliability and service. Zen managed 3 out of 5 for value for money with prices being around £17.61 per month making it one of the more expensive options.

zen broadband Zen Internet top customer broadband satisfation charts with Which?Overall it topped the charts with 87%. Close behind were O2 (85%), Utility Warehouse (81%) and BE Broadband (80%) who all scored above 80%.
However, BT, TalkTalk, Tiscali and Virgin Media all scored less than 60%, being as these are the big 4 broadband providers in the UK it does go to show that perhaps sometimes paying slightly more with a smaller company can yield better customer satisfaction. Zen are obviously building their business around the customer satisfaction stakes which can go a long way to keeping customers with them.

The 5 companies that faired the worst were AOL (31%), Karoo (38%), Pipex (36%), Orange (32%) and Tiscali (39%) that scored and showed that customers lacked the satisfaction with the service they received from these broadband providers.
