Broadband - Broadband Guide - VoIP, Voice over Internet Protocol

VoIP is relatively new technology. VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol" and basically means that voice calls can be made through your Internet connection (the analogue audio signals get transferred to digital data so they can be sent through the internet).

The big benefit to using VoIP is the cost savings that can be made and the VoIP technology is only going to grow especially as the number of people getting broadband is also growing.

To use VoIP technology you will need a broadband phone that you can use to make and receive calls.
