A Wireless router is pretty much the same as an ordinary router other than it is able to allow wireless access to it. What this means is that you can use it to set up wireless internet access toy uor broadband through it so you can be in another room and be able to connect to the Internet with no wires or cables joining the device you are using to the Internet.

Wireless routerOne of the main differences physically between a router and a wireless router is that you will usually see an antenna that is used to transmit the signals to the wireless devices. This isn't the case with all as many also have internel antenna's.

Wireless is becoming more and more popular and more and more devices are also becoming wireless too. It is not only a laptop or other computer that you can use, games consoles are making use of the technology so gamers can easily play games against other people in the world very simply, a great example being by using the Sony PSP (Playstation Portable) that is a handheld console that will not only allow gamers to play multi player games wirelessly over the internet but it also allows users to access the internet and search the internet and read emails!
